Brownsville Fire Department 9/11 Memorial Bicycle Ride
32-Mile Ride | September 11, 2022 @ 7:30 AM | $30 Registration Fee
This year marks 22 years since the terrorist attacks that took place September 11, 2001. In honor and remembrance of our nation’s bravest, the Brownsville Fire Department, in partnership with the Los Fresnos Fire Department, and the Brownsville Firefighter Association invites the community to attend the 9/11 Memorial Ride, to be held at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Brownsville Fire Department Station 8, 1855 Captain Donald Foust Road in Brownsville, TX.
REGISTRATION
Late registration for the 9/11 Memorial Bicycle Ride will begin at 6:00 a.m on THE DAY OF THE EVENT (no additional fees applied). Participants must present their registration form, signed waiver and $30 registration fee. Participants may also register prior to the event online. Proceeds will benefit the Brownsville Fire Department Toy Drive Christmas Fund.

WHAT TO BRING
- Bicycle
- Helmet

All riders MUST HAVE a HELMET AND RIDE BIB (NUMBER) to participate in the 9/11 Memorial Bicycle Ride.
PARKING
Parking will be available on the parking lot to the right-hand side of the fire station, off of Foust Road.
We will have Brownsville Fire Explorers and Brownsville Police Department directing parking.

Accommodations are not provided.
START TIME
- The 9/11 Memorial Ceremony begins at 7:15 a.m. in front of Brownsville Fire Department Station #8, featuring a performance by the Brownsville Firefighters Pipes & Drums.
- The 32-mile 9/11 Memorial Bicycle Ride begins at 7:30 a.m. at Brownsville Fire Department Station #8 with two rest stops.

After making it back to the station, receive your medal and stick around for the after party. Enjoy some good food, cold drinks and music with good friends and family. You will have a chance to take pictures with firefighters and the firetrucks. The Brownsville Firefighter Association Local 970, the Harlingen Firefighters Association Local 3404, and the San Benito Firefighters Association Local 4097 will be providing food for everyone, so if you have someone who did not ride that's okay, they can still eat and drink.

When is the ride?
The 9/11 Memorial Bicycle Ride will take place on Sunday September 11, 2022 (THE SUNDAY OF 9/11).
Will I get a T-shirt and a medal?
T-shirt and medals will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. T-Shirts will be given out at Pre-registration and during late registration. Medals will be given out after the ride with your BIB #1-200 (SO REGISTER EARLY).
What are the entry fees?
The entry fee is $30.
Is there an age limit for participating in the event?
14 years and older. (THIS IS A PACED RIDE. WE WILL BE TRYING TO KEEP THE GROUP TOGETHER).
What happens in the case of severe weather on ride day?
In the event of severe weather forcing the cancellation of the 9/11 Memorial Bicycle Ride 2022, you will still be able to pick up your T-shirt and medal.
SORRY NO REFUNDS
Will there be rest stops?
We will have two rest stops. The rest stops will have restrooms. We will have water and snacks (fruit and cookies) for all riders.
How can my friends and family participate?
Friends and family are welcome to come to the 9/11 ceremony and stay for the after party (free).
What if I can't ride the whole distance?
We will have SAG (Support and Gear) provided by Bicycle World and JT Cycling.
