Halloween is in the air. Come to Dean Porter Park and take a stroll among the pumpkins and scarecrows. This colorful and exciting display brings enjoyment to the entire community. See all of the creative, spooky and fun scarecrows your community members have built!
Scarecrow Trail at Dean Porter Park opens to the public Friday, October 21st, 2022.
Public is welcome to visit the Pumpkin Patch & Scarecrow Trail between October 21-31.
If you want to do more than visit & see, participate! Enter your own scarecrow for competition.
When it comes to your Scarecrow, your "Crow Crew’s" imagination is the limit! This contest is open to any business, organization, individual or family.
Contest Winners: The public will judge their favorite Scarecrows throughout the duration of the Pumpkin Patch. PARD staff will take photos of the Scarecrows on 10/21/22 to be posted on social media for public voting. Scarecrow with the most likes by 10/30/22 will be the Peoples Choice winner!
Additionally, On 10/29/22 at Park After Dark, a panel of judges will select the PARD winner! Make sure to attend the event to see who the judges select.

BE SEEN BY THE RGV
Last year, our Park After Dark event was attended by more than 3,000 kids and families from in and around Brownsville and the lower RGV. This isn't counting the number of people that shared all their photos and videos via social media.
Make your ‘crow an awesome display that shares your message and represents your business, organization or family, while encouraging folks to get outside and enjoy nature! You must provide a placard with your info logo or name to identify your participation. Your "Scare Crew" will be recognized on our site and social media.
