The City of Brownsville, Brownsville Metro encourages the public to use its public transit service. We provide service throughout Brownsville with thirteen bus routes, running from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., from Monday through Sunday.

 Bring your bike along and store it in our convenient bike racks! Please see video below:

Bus Passes


You can purchase bus passes any time from our automatic ticket vending machine located outside of the building in the Brownsville Metro transit island. Bus passes and discount fare cards may also be purchased from Brownsville Metro staff inside the building during our regular business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), Monday through Friday.

Policies & Standards

Performance indicators will be used to evaluate the productivity and activity of each route. Special attention will be given  to those routes which fall below the following standards until they meet the standards or are removed from service.
