Notice of Proposed Substantial Amendment to the 2019 One Year Action Plan

COMMENT PERIOD: July 12, 2021 through July 16, 2021

Notice is hereby given that the City of Brownsville (City) is considering a Substantial Amendment to the 2019 One Year Action Plan to add Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Program (ESG-CV) Round 2.  The City is an Entitlement City in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) which administers Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Programs.

In response to the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19), the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has notified the City of Brownsville that it will receive additional allocation of Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Program - Coronavirus Response funds (ESG-CV Round 2) - $1,964,765.00 to be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to COVID-19.This allocation was authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), Public Law 116-136 to respond to the growing effects of this public health crisis.

Comment Period: The City of Brownsville must provide for and encourage public participation, emphasizing involvement by low and moderate income people, especially those living in low and moderate income neighborhoods. Submittal: The AAP Substantial Amendment will be submitted to HUD on or about August 15, 2021.
