Welcome to the City of Brownsville’s Geographic Information System (GIS / GIS Mapping) web portal. This online tool is available to our citizens for viewing useful geographic information within our City and surrounding area. In it you will find information on property addresses, voting districts, City facilities and so much more.


Business

People or entities doing or wanting to do business in Brownsville are able to utilize layers that provide a visual reference to questions such as:

  • What areas of the City are zoned commercial?
  • What part of the City is currently undergoing new construction or home repairs?
  • What businesses are operating in the City?

Residents & Visitors

Residents and Visitors are able to utilize layers that provide a visual reference to questions such as:

  • What voting district do I belong to?
  • What public parks are nearest to me?
  • Do I live inside the City limits?
  • Which areas do Public Transit operate within?

Layers

  • Brownsville City Limits: a layer which provides the current City boundaries
  • A layer that provides markers of Building Permits, Business Licenses, and Request for Service (Under Development)
  • Planning and Zoning: A layer designed to provide a color reference to the various Zoning areas such as Heritage District, and Specific Zoning Use District.
  • Brownsville Electoral Districts: provides the location of the four voting districts throughout the City.
  • Brownsville Metro: provides information of bus stops and the bus lines located throughout the City.
  • Public Safety: designed to share information on the location of Fire stations, Hospitals and Police Department/Substations.

The City Department Maps category is several galleries of maps created by various departments in the city government covering areas and topics within their scope. Some examples include:

  • Bus Metro: bus routes
  • Parks and Recreation: city parks and trails
  • Public Works: drainage systems and street sweep routes
