The Drainage division made many improvements in 2010, particularly, improvements to water flow control by way of the Kumquat diversion. New drain improvements on Downs Road also helped alleviate flooding concerns for that neighborhood.
The biggest drainage project was restoring the concrete channel bulwarks at the Impala Pump Station. The concrete sidewalls collapsed and threatened to compromise our premiere flood control facility that diverts flood waters from the North Main Drain and resacas to the Rio Grande River.
