The Brownsville Veterans Resource Center (BVRC) is a partnership between the City of Brownsville and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (McAllen Vet Center). The McAllen Vet Center provides counseling and education services to local veterans. Private office space and resources are provided to the McAllen Vet Center by the City of Brownsville at the BVRC.
The following services are provided to local veterans by the McAllen Vet Center at the BRVC, by appointment:

The City of Brownsville and the U.S. Small Business Administration's Lower Rio Grande Valley District Office (LRGVDO) signed a Strategic Alliance Memorandum (SAM) to encourage entrepreneurship and economic empowerment through increased collaboration on entrepreneurial and financial education for local veterans as well as small business owners.
In support of the SAM, the LRGVDO has scheduled an Economic Development Specialist (EDS) at the Brownsville Veterans Resource Center on alternate Tuesdays from 8:30 to 11 a.m. to provide small business programs and services for local veterans.
The LRGVDO will provide business counseling, seminars and workshops in support of area veteran entrepreneurs.
The SAM is intended to spur economic development through small business growth, and to improve entrepreneurial education that advances greater access to capital, expanded technical assistance and access to procurement programs.
The Strategic Alliance Memorandum between the City of Brownsville and the SBA's Lower Rio Grande Valley District Office represents the first partnership of its kind within the LRGVDO counties.
