BROWNSVILLE, Texas (January 9, 2019) – At a regular City Commission Meeting held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, the Brownsville City Commission voted to approve Resolution Number 2019-001, to call the 2019 General Municipal Election to be held on May 4, 2019, for the purpose of electing four (4) members of the Brownsville City Commission.
The four offices up for election are:
- Mayor
- City Commissioner At-Large A
- City Commissioner District 1
- City Commissioner District 2
Election packets will be available at the Office of the City Secretary located inside City Plaza, 1034 E. Levee Street, Brownsville, Texas.
The Office of the City Secretary will begin accepting applications for a place on the ballot on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, during regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The deadline to submit an application for a place on the ballot is on Friday, February 15, 2019.
