WHAT:
The City of Brownsville in partnership with the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council (LRGVDC) invite the community to attend the Road to Recycling Tire Collection Day, to be held on Saturday, April 27, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at three locations: Gonzalez Park, 34 Tony Gonzalez Drive; Veterans Park, 2500 Central Blvd.; and the Brownsville Municipal Landfill, 9000 FM 802 in Brownsville, Texas.
Residents may bring in tires at no charge with an official Driver License/ID.
The Road to Recycling Tire Collection Day encourages residents to eliminate standing water in and around their homes and help control mosquitos that spread Dengue, Chikungunya and Zika viruses. Public Health Department and Office of Emergency Management representatives will be at each location disseminating information regarding 546-HELP and mosquito-borne diseases.
