
On Thursday, August 1, 2019, the City of Brownsville and the City of Matamoros in collaboration with the Mexican Consulate in Brownsville, the Consulate General of the United States of America Matamoros, Mexico and the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce hosted the Murals Without Borders Binational Press Conference on Thursday at the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce, 1600 W. University Boulevard, in Brownsville,Texas.
The Murals Without Borders community-wide mural contest provides the residents of Brownsville, Texas and Matamoros, Tamaulipas the opportunity to depict a world without borders.
A selection committee will review sketch submissions and select four artists to receive a $1,500 prize.
Selected artists will participate in a week-long feedback workshop in Brownsville with local artists for a week-long workshop and mural-painting session.
The deadline to submit mural proposals is 12 a.m., Saturday, August 31, 2019. Selection Committee choices will be announced on September 12, 2019.
