As part of the public involvement process for the development of the subject project, The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is proposing to improve SH 48 between SH 4 and FM 511 in Cameron County, Texas. The proposed improvements on SH 48 include replacing the center turn lane with a concrete raised median. The purpose of the project is to enhance safety and mobility along the project highway.
TxDOT will be holding a virtual public meeting beginning on Monday, October 12, 2020 at 4:00p.m. to share information on the project and gather input from the public. Project staff will give a pre-recorded presentation regarding the project with both audio and visual components. To log onto the virtual public meeting, go to the following web address at the date and time indicated above: www.txdot.gov and enter the keyword “SH 48 Virtual Public Meeting”. The virtual public meeting will remain available online through the comment period deadline of October 27, 2020.
