CITY PARTNERS TO OFFER COVID-19 VACCINE IN BROWNSVILLE
Takes swift action to host its first city-led vaccination clinic this Friday, February 5th.

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (February 3, 2021) — The City of Brownsville will be hosting its first city-led vaccination clinic this Friday, February 5, 2021 at the Texas Southmost College ITEC Center located at 301 Mexico Blvd., Brownsville 78520 starting at 6:00 a.m.

This first vaccination clinic is aimed for individuals 65 years of age and above. Pre-registration is required online at btxcares.com. To register, individuals meeting criteria, must fill out the registration form which will be activated on Thursday, February 4th at 8:00 a.m. The COVID-19 Hotline operating hours are from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Individuals who do not have internet access, may call the City of Brownsville COVID-19 Helpline at (956) 394-0012 for questions or assistance with registration. No walk-ins will be allowed at the vaccination clinic.

Individuals must present a valid photo ID and must always remain in their vehicles. The public is strongly encouraged to download and complete the consent and IMMTrac forms ahead of time to expedite this process. This vaccination clinic will have a minimum of 15 vaccination stations.

The City of Brownsville has partnered with the State of Texas, Cameron County, the Brownsville Independent School District (BISD), Texas Southmost College and Reliable Clinic to provide the vaccination event.

The City urges residents to continue to practice social distancing, avoid crowded places, wear face coverings, and wash their hands frequently to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

The City of Brownsville was notified on February 1, 2021 by the Department of State Health Services as an approved provider of the COVID-19 vaccine. This designation will allow us at the city to directly access more vaccines and events are coming very soon.
