The Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation (GBIC) Hosts 2021 BTX Brownsville Developers Event
BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (July 8, 2021) – The Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation (GBIC) hosted the 2021 Annual BTX Brownsville Developers Event today, July 8, 2021, at the Brownsville Events Center, in collaboration with the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Partnership.
The BTX Brownsville Developers Event is an annual initiative providing the most current information and networking opportunities for developers, at a regional and state level, in the interest of commercial, NewSpace and industrial projects that are launching in Brownsville.
Over 100 people attended the event, with presentations from Sergio Contreras, CEO/President of RGV Partnership, Noel Bernal, City of Brownsville City Manager, Helen Ramirez, GBIC Executive Director and CEO/City of Brownsville Deputy City Manager. Other presentations included those from Brant Arseneau, Founder of Spaced Ventures and 9Point8 Capital for NewSpace Economy, as well as Josh Mejia, Executive Director, for BCIC – New Programs – eBridge Center, and Constanza Miner, Retail and Redevelopment Manager for GBIC and the City of Brownsville.
The event also provided focused tours of Brownsville, highlighting the hot spots for business and potential development areas, including the City’s Historic Downtown and development opportunities at the Brownsville/SPI International Airport/Air and Space Campus, in addition to over 730 acres of GBIC owned Industrial Parks.
In closing, this grand affair provided a farewell mixer, hosted by Terra’s Urban Mexican Kitchen, which was sponsored exclusively by IBC Bank, allowing for these developers to mingle with one another over local cuisine and enjoy Brownsville Downtown culture.
