The City of Brownsville’s Office of Organizational Development and Human Resources received the Human Resources Strategic Department of the Year by the Texas Municipal Human Resources Association.
The HR Strategic Department of the Year recognizes the outstanding contributions that an HR team has made in the past 18 months to their City and the employees they serve. The award acknowledges the efforts made to enhance and further the mission, vision and values of the organization and its culture while aligning strategic HR practices and programs.
“It is a great honor to be awarded the Human Resources Strategic Department of the Year by Texas Municipal Human Resources Association, especially since we competed with some of the largest cities in the state such as Austin, Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio. It is a testament to the dedication and passion that our OD&HR Department does to hire the right fit talent for the City of Brownsville and help the employees prepare for career ladder success while at the same time promoting the City’s Values of Innovation, Communications and Trust and the three components of Leadership, Culture and Structure as a foundation to reinforce the City’s Vision - To foster, inspire, and promote a culture of participatory leadership and Mission - To serve and support the City of Brownsville through innovative management techniques and cross functional efforts, to become ONE CITY,” Cepeda said.
The Texas Municipal Human Resources Association’s mission is to grow and enhance the professional development of its dedicated and compassionate members through effective knowledge sharing and relationship building.
