COB NAMES NEW ASSISTANT MANAGER

Brownsville, TX (May 23, 2023) – City of Brownsville City Manager, Helen Ramirez, AICP, is proud to announce Police Chief Felix Sauceda has been named Assistant City Manager/Police Chief. Chief Sauceda assumes his new role effective immediately. Having served the City for more than 30 years, Chief Sauceda will take on a dual role both as Assistant City Manager and Police Chief.

"I am thrilled to congratulate Chief Sauceda on his new role,” said Ramirez. “His extensive experience, and commitment to excellence and service to our Brownsville community will further strengthen our Executive Leadership Team and the City Manager’s Office. His leadership will undoubtedly enhance the services we provide our community, not only within public safety, but within other key departments."

"I am immensely grateful for this opportunity,” said Chief Sauceda. “I look forward to maintaining my commitment to the leadership of the Brownsville Police Department while also working closely with City Manager Ramirez and our dedicated City departments and employees. This new role allows me to further serve our great City and its wonderful residents." Chief Sauceda will support the City Manager while assisting with the development and implementation of long-and-short-range strategic plans and initiatives. He will also lead operational departments and functional components within the City's overarching goals and objectives.
