The Brownsville Animal Regulation and Care Center (BARCC) will provide free microchipping for dogs and other pets from June 24 through July 1, 2023, in anticipation of the Fourth of July holiday.
BARCC is located at 416 FM 511 in Brownsville.
Upon arrival for microchipping, dogs should be on leashes and cats should be in carriers.
The microchips will be administered on a first-come first-serve basis during regular business hours. These free microchips were made possible through a grant from 24 Pet Watch.
According to Dr. Antonio Caldwell, deputy director of animal services for the City of Brownsville Public Health Department and BARCC, microchipping is one of the greatest way to keep dogs and their families together.
