HEAT INDICES BETWEEN 105 AND 110 DEGREES EXPECTED THURSDAY AFTERNOON

Hot Weather

Heat indices of between 105 and 110 degrees are once again expected Thursday afternoon in Brownsville and the rest of the Rio Grande Valley.

The National Weather Service in Brownsville/Rio Grande Valley reports the combination of well above average temperature and high dewpoints will produce high index values of up to 110 degrees for a few hours this Thursday afternoon.

If you are spending time outdoors, remember to remain hydrated, take frequent breaks, and wear lightweight and light-colored clothing.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles. This is especially true during warm or hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in minutes.
