The City of Brownsville is investing in infrastructure improvements for the residents living on Calle Buenos Aires on the city’s north side.
The full reconstruction of the street by G&T Paving, which includes replacing the curb and gutter, sidewalks, and driveways, will improve the overall quality of the street and enhance the neighborhood's appearance.
The cost of the project is $724,089.00.
The funding for this project from the Capital Improvement Projects, particularly through the Certificates of Obligation bond funds, indicates a responsible financial approach to undertaking public projects. Bonds are commonly used by municipalities to raise funds for various initiatives, including infrastructure upgrades, as they allow the city to borrow money and repay it over time.
Once the project is finished, the residents on Calle Buenos Aires will likely experience improved transportation, aesthetics, and safety in their neighborhood.
The work is expected to be completed in about a week.
