CITY OF BROWNSVILLE ENGINEERING AND PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT CONTINUE WORK ON STREET IMPROVEMENTS

Laguna Azul

The City of Brownsville Engineer and Public Works Department is making progress on the street repair projects funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).

As of Tuesday, August 1, 2023, the EPW crews were actively working on repaving Laguna Azul Drive, which is situated off Vermillion Road. The project is estimated to cost $34,944.00 and is fully funded by HUD and CDBG.

Additionally, on Monday, July 31, 2023, the EPW crews successfully completed the repaving of Laguna de Palmas, which is also located in the same area.

There are still other streets in the vicinity that are scheduled for repaving in the next two weeks, subject to weather conditions permitting the work to proceed as planned. The efforts of the City's Engineer and Public Works Department will improve the infrastructure and ensure better road conditions for the community.
