Gladys Porter Zoo is hosting a special event called "Brownsville Discount Days" for residents of Brownsville.

 During the weekend of September 8-10, 2023, Brownsville residents will have the opportunity to visit the zoo at significantly discounted rates, which are the lowest of the year.

Here are the entrance rates for Brownsville Discount Days at the Gladys Porter Zoo:

Adults (14 years of age and older): $4

Children (2 to 13 years of age): $3

Seniors (65 years of age and older): $4

To take advantage of these discounted rates, at least one family member will need to show proof of residence at the entrance gate. This is to ensure that only Brownsville residents can benefit from the special pricing. Proof of residency such as a driver's license, utility receipt, or school ID will suffice.

The zoo will be open during this event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The Gladys Porter Zoo is highly regarded and is considered one of the top-rated zoos in the nation. It's located on over 31 acres in Brownsville's Mitte Cultural District.

Some of the newer attractions at the zoo include the Russell Aquatic and Ecology Center, featuring a Stingray touch tank where visitors can interact with these fascinating creatures.
