In response to a critical surge in canine residents at the Brownsville Animal Regulation and Care Center, the City of Brownsville is excited to announce a collaborative effort with City Libraries to host a series of Pet Adoption Days. This initiative aims to find loving and responsible families for the growing number of dogs in need of forever homes.
The animal care center is currently experiencing an unprecedented influx of canine residents, and urgent action is needed to ensure that each of these animals finds a safe and caring environment. To address this pressing issue, the City of Brownsville has joined forces with local libraries to create Library Adoption Days, a unique opportunity for potential adopters to welcome a new furry friend into their homes.

At each of these Library Adoption Days, prospective adopters will have the chance to connect with a wide variety of dogs, differing in sizes, shapes, and ages. The City is committed to finding the perfect match for each family, ensuring that both the dog and the family's lifestyles align harmoniously.
The City of Brownsville is waiving adoption fees for all dogs during this event. Additionally, to encourage the adoption of feline companions, cat adoption fees have been reduced to $49. Each adoption includes a complete health check, vaccinations, and sterilization services to ensure the well-being of the newly adopted pets.
"The Library Adoption Days exemplify the spirit of community collaboration and compassion," said Antonio Caldwell, Deputy Director of Brownsville Animal Regulation and Care Center. "We're thrilled to partner with local libraries to create a platform where residents can not only find a loyal companion but also contribute to the welfare of these canines in need."
The City of Brownsville invites all residents with a love for dogs and a willingness to provide a forever home to join in this meaningful initiative. By opening their hearts and homes, adopters will not only enrich their own lives but also make a significant difference in the lives of the dogs they choose to adopt.
