BPUB ANNOUNCES TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF SECTION OF ROBINDALE ROAD DUE TO WATER REPAIR

bpub

The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) is announcing a section of Robindale Road from Old Port Isabel Road to Ruben M. Torres Boulevard will be closed for approximately six hours today, September 9, 2023, as crews make an emergency water repair.

Both northbound and southbound lanes of Robindale Road between Old Port Isabel Road and Ruben M. Torres Boulevard will be temporarily closed as BPUB crews perform emergency repairs due to a subsequent break to a 16-inch water line that was struck by a fiber installation contractor.

While repairs are being made, motorists are asked to drive with caution and avoid that area if possible. Traffic will be diverted until repairs are complete.

BPUB apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. The safety of our residents and the restoration of services remains our top priority. BPUB encourage drivers to plan their routes in advance and to follow all posted detour signs.

Updates on the roadwork and any changes to the expected duration of the closure will be provided on BPUB's official Facebook and Twitter channels.
