The atmosphere at the Brownsville Sports Park was electric as hundreds and hundreds of of children, donned in their favorite Halloween costumes, gathered for the Brownsville Police Department's annual Spooktacular Halloween Bash on Friday, October 27, 2023. This massive trick-or-treating event saw kids of all ages visiting booths and enjoying Halloween treats.

Nereida Meza, attending the event for the first time with her two young children, expressed her gratitude for the organizers' thoughtful approach. She appreciated that parents with special needs children were allowed to enter the Spooktacular Halloween Bash one hour before it opened to the public, making the event accessible and enjoyable for all children.

 Abril Luna, the spokesperson for the Brownsville Police Department, expressed delight at the unexpectedly large turnout. She emphasized the department's gratitude for the community's enthusiastic participation in the free event. Luna highlighted the presence of various local agencies and vendors, underscoring the event's collaborative spirit within the community.

 Trick-or-treaters explored numerous booths scattered around the area, where they received candies and other delightful goodies. Luna explained that the police department organizes the Spooktacular Halloween Bash annually as part of their commitment to community engagement.
