The start of a new month means it is time for another First Friday event and this First Friday in downtown Brownsville will provide plenty of entertainment for the entire family. 

There will be a Catrina Contest, Luchadores, photobooths, 360 selfie camera, face painting for the kids, and FREE pedicabs to take you around the Market Square area in Historic Downtown Brownsville. 

First Friday begins at 7:00 PM on November 3, 2023, in the Market Square area of Downtown Brownsville. 

The Catrina Contest involves participants dressing up as Catrinas, which are elegant and iconic skeletons often associated with the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Participants may compete in various categories, showcasing their creativity and costumes. 

Lucha Libre is Mexican professional wrestling known for its colorful masks and high-flying moves. It's a thrilling and entertaining spectacle that can be enjoyed by all ages. 

Kids can have their faces painted with fun and creative designs. This activity is perfect for children who want to get into the spirit of the event. 

Pedicabs are bicycle taxis that can take you around the Market Square area. It's a convenient and eco-friendly way to explore the surroundings and get from one activity to another. 

Family-friendly activities will take place from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM, making it an ideal time for families to enjoy the event together. 

For those who want to continue the festivities into the late hours, nightlight activities will continue until 2:00 AM. This part of the event is geared towards adults or those looking for a lively nightlife experience.
