MEXICAN ACTOR, SINGER, AND FILM MAKER EDUARDO VERASTEGUI ANNOUNCED AS 2024 MR. AMIGO

Mr Amigo 1

Mexican actor, singer, and film maker Eduardo Verástegui has been announced as Mr. Amigo for 2024 by the Mr. Amigo Association. This recognition is a celebration of unity and shared values between Mexico and the United States.

Verástegui's career in the entertainment industry, from being part of the band Kairo to his roles in films like "Chasing Papi," "Bella," and "Little Boy," showcases his talent and versatility. Moreover, his recent work as a film producer, particularly in "Sound of Freedom," addressing the serious issue of global human trafficking involving children, reflects a commitment to meaningful storytelling and social issues.

The Mayor of Brownsville, John Cowen Jr., highlighted the significance of the Mr. Amigo event as a landmark occasion for the city, emphasizing the importance of celebrating unity and shared values, especially in times of global challenges.

“I think this event is about unity, it’s celebrating our common shared values, our friendship and I think we need more of that in our world and I want to thank the Mr. Amigo Association,” Cowen said.

Verástegui, born in Ciudad Mante, Tamaulipas, Mexico, expressed his honor at being selected as Mr. Amigo and shared his deep appreciation for both Mexico and the United States.

“I love Mexico and I love the United States. The United States has been such an amazing, blessing in my life. It has opened the door to my dreams. When I moved to the United States I didn’t speak English, I was hungry of success and I started my own production company many years ago and my biggest dreams of my life, I was able to achieve them in the United States,” Verástegui said.

The Mr. Amigo Association, with its long history dating back to 1964, plays a crucial role in fostering cultural exchange and understanding between Mexico and the United States.

Verástegui is looking forward to participating in the Charro Days Fiesta, which will take place from February 29 to March 2, 2024, as part of the Mr. Amigo celebration
