CITY OF BROWNSVILLE ENGINEERING AND PUBLIC WORKS CREWS CLEAN UP DEBRIS LEFT BEHIND BY STRONG WINDS

City of Brownsville

The City of Brownsville recently experienced a significant windstorm, leading to widespread debris scattered across the city. The Engineering and Public Works Department crews were engaged in cleaning up the debris, including palm tree fronds, tree branches, and other scattered materials.

The National Weather Service in Brownsville/Rio Grande Valley reported that this situation was caused by a potent low-pressure system and a cold front, producing strong winds throughout the area.

Some locations experienced wind speeds as high as 40 mph, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph. This severe weather prompted the issuance of a Red Flag Warning due to the potential for critical fire conditions.

In response to this situation, the city's crews were actively working to clear the streets and restore normalcy. The windstorm left behind considerable debris, necessitating extensive cleanup efforts.
