
BROWNSVILLE, Texas (March 23, 2017) – On Tuesday, March 21, 2017, Brownsville Metro was honored with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Region VI 2017 Transit System of the Year award at the Texas Transit Association’s 2017 Training, Expo, & Roadeo in Lubbock, Texas.
The award, presented by the FTA Region VI Office, honors Brownsville Metro for excellence in meeting FTA’s program requirements, including grant management, program compliance and reporting.
Brownsville Metro was named 2017 Transit System of the Year among all Region VI designated and direct grantees, including: state Departments of Transportation (DOTs); small and large urban area transit providers; and tribal grantees across Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.
