WHAT:            

The City of Brownsville Fire Department and the Office of Emergency Management will join the American Red Cross of South Texas and WellMed from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017, for Sound the Alarm, a home fire safety and smoke alarm installation event.

American Red Cross of South Texas volunteers and partners will be canvassing neighborhoods surrounding Dean Porter Park in Brownsville to install free smoke alarms, replace batteries in existing alarms, and help families create escape plans as part of a nationwide effort to help reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by home fires.
