BROWNSVILLE, Texas (October 17, 2016) – City of Brownsville Assistant City Engineer Doroteo Garcia, Jr. was recognized by the Rotary Club of Brownsville, Texas with the Quiet Rotarian Award for Service Above Self during a weekly meeting on June 25, 2016, at the Brownsville Museum of Fine Art.
A member of the Rotary Club of Brownsville, Texas since January 2010, Garcia received the Quiet Rotarian Award in recognition of his work which epitomizes service to others without fanfare or desire for credit.
The Rotary Club of Brownsville, Texas, established in 1916, is dedicated to bringing together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace.

Garcia joined the City of Brownsville in September 2002 as Engineer I, and has served as Assistant City Engineer since January 2005.
